story in STORY
In the midst of novel revisions, it’s great to take a break and write work one can complete in days, not months/years.
A new short piece is forthcoming the legendary STORY magazine.
I’ve always admired STORY for publishing literary luminaries from Richard Wright to Truman Capote to Charles Bukowski to Junot Diaz to Joyce Carol Oates to Tennessee Williams to William Saroyan, but I just stumbled across this tidbit, too. It speaks to the magazine’s rich history + to me personally, too, since the “Best American Short Stories” series is one I read faithfully, every single year.
Time to pop champagne! (Oh. Wait. Maybe after lunch, huh?)
